Suhoor

Suhoor is the meal taken before dawn, before the fast begins. This page gives what is said at it, together with the general duas for food that apply, each with the Arabic text, a transliteration, an English translation and its source. It is a short page because little is reported specifically for suhoor beyond the intention to fast and the ordinary supplications said over a meal — most of what belongs to the fasting day itself is on the Ramadan page, which is linked below.

وَبِصَوْمِ غَدٍ نَّوَيْتُ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ

TransliterationWa bisawmi ghadinn nawaiytu min shahri ramadan.

TranslationI intend to keep the fast tomorrow in the month of Ramadan.
